Betty was born December 24th, 1941 in Hobbs, New Mexico to James (JD) & Clotile Phillips and was one of five children.
Betty was a devout Christian and a member of the Lake View Baptist church for many years until their doors closed. She then found a new church family at Calvary Baptist Church. She loved attending services by Pastor Bobby Roger and enjoyed Bible Study with her friends during the week.
Betty’s happiest times were with her loving family and dear friends (Marsha Roach). She loved traveling to visit family, and most of all loved her travels to Branson MO; spending time with her sisters-in-law and attending the musicals and theater there.
She had the gift of making you feel like you were an immediate part of the family, always hugging you with a full embrace, holding your hand while she talked to you, and kissing you goodbye on the lips (with lips that were so rosy that they always looked like she had on freshly applied lipstick)! She always made sure, as you were driving away, that kisses were blown to you!
She had so much love for her family and was a beautiful example of the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the sunshine of her life! She had so much love, joy and support for all of them; she was immensely proud to call them hers.
She will be missed terribly and never forgotten. We will love you forever and always! We all know you are blowing us kisses, as you always have, and we will feel them in the breeze on our face. When a cardinal is near, a butterfly flutters past or we find pennies or dimes on the ground…we shall blow a kiss right back at you!
Survivors include her Children Robin (Brad) Hill, Rosanna (Clay) Miller, Doug (Beverly) Scott, Jimmy (Mary) Scott, Kay (Tony) Lester. Also Surviving are two sisters Barbara Daniels and Linda (Jimmy) Stafford. And Grandchildren, Cory (Jennifer) Englert, Desiree (Meredith) Hill, Brandon Hill, Miranda (Mandy) Brantley, Aldo (Jenny) Flores, Curt (Melissa) Scott, Carla (Dean) Herrera, Nathan Scott, 15 great-grandchildren and two Great-Great Grand Children.
