Berta Anne Pruitt

Berta Anne Pruitt, 87, of San Angelo, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 21, 2023. She was born on October 20, 1935 in Emhouse, Texas to Charles T. and Cleo Reid. Berta retired from GTE in 1996. She married the love of her life Charles B. Pruitt on January 6, 1954 and had 3 children. Berta was devoted to her family, friends and to her faith in Jesus. She was known by Mom and Nana not only by her family but by many friends who all loved her. She always loved holding babies. Berta was preceded in death by her husband Charles B. Pruitt; her father Charles T. Reid; her mother Cleo McElvaney Reid; her brothers Thornton Reid and wife Delma, Charles “Chuck” Reid and wife Doris, John “Alvin” Reid and Carl J. Reid; her sister Rebecca Kriethe and husband Ted. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Belinda Fulghum, Thornton “Dale” Pruitt and wife Peggy and Charles “Alan” Pruitt and wife Becky; her grandchildren Jennifer Stokes, David Pruitt, Courtney Schrier and husband Brett and Cody Pruitt; her great grandchildren Ashlie Harrington and husband Dakota, Alyson Stokes and husband Robert, Autumn Stokes, Bentley Schrier, Brycen Schrier and Baylor Schrier; 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. A graveside celebration of Berta’s life will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023 in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. A visitation will follow at Immanuel Baptist Church in the café (West Side Door). In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
