Lucille M. Jones

Lucille M. Jones, 73, of Pittsville passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Wicomico Nursing Home. Born in Dagsboro, DE she was the daughter of the late Edward and Violet Savage. She was Commissioner for the Town of Pittsville for 15 years and a Poultry Grower for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her great-grandchildren. She is survived by children, Melissa Downin and her husband Tim, Michelle White and her husband Andy, and Edward Jones; three grandchildren, Bryan Jones and his wife Ashley, Andrew White, and Noah Jones; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Brayden Jones; sister, Betty Jane Chandlar; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Ernest “Jimmy” Jones; daughter, Denise Slaughter; and sister, Joyce Yoder. A special thank you to Wicomico Nursing Home for all of the love and care shown to Lucille. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11am at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Evangelist Dixie Everett will officiate. Interment will follow in Pittsville Cemetery.
