Iris Lee Smullen

Iris Lee Smullen, 80, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Peak Health Care at Hartley Hall in Pocomoke City, MD. Born January 25, 1944 in Salisbury she was the daughter of the late John Lester Adkins and Sally Ellen Smack Adkins.

She was a member of Olivet Christian Church in Snow Hill. She was a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by six children, Kathi Cottoman (Jim), Sharon Hommel (Tim), David Hearn (Cindy), Richard Hearn (Bonnie), Kevin Smullen and Wilmer Smullen; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Alexander; special nephew, Jay Shores (Becky). Mrs. Smullen was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Calvin Hearn (1965), husband, Douglas Lee Smullen (2015); brothers, Fred Adkins, Leslie Adkins and Lloyd Adkins; sisters, Beatrice Layfield and Edna Conway.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 11am at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment in Olivet Christian Church Cemetery will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Iris’s name may be made to Olivet Christian Church, 1806 Honeywell Road, Snow Hill, MD 21863.
