Clare C. Adams Ripple passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD surrounded by family. Clare was born to George and Mary Adams on October 8, 1926 in Baltimore, MD. She attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and graduated from Towson Catholic High School. In November 1947, Clare married her husband, Charles J. Ripple. They had an eventful and long, happy life together. Clare and Charles moved from Baltimore to Salisbury, MD in 1950. They joined St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where they continued to be active members. She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America where she held many positions; including Grant Regent. Clare was a member of the Mary Clare Guild were she enjoyed serving others with her friends. Clare worked for Stewart Co. and the Alex Brown Co. in Baltimore, while in Salisbury she worked at Farm Credit and Arundel Products where she retired after 17 years. Clare loved to travel with her husband, family and friends. Through the years, they visited Hawaii, Alaska, Bermuda, Europe, Canadian Rockies, and many parts of the Continental United States and Canada. She loved cooking, gardening and playing cards. Clare was a loving mother and good friend. She will be greatly missed by all, especially her sister, Joan Long of Baltimore and friend, Catherine Haggerty of Salisbury. Clare was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Adams; and siblings, James (Betty), Mary Opdyke (Orris), Earl Adams (Cathy), Regina Conroy (James), Ann Cook (John), Alfred Adams (Eleanor), George Adams (Dorothy), Pat Adams; brother-in-law, Clarence Long, and son-in-law, Gary Taylor. Clare is survived by her husband of 70 years, Charles Ripple Sr.; her loving daughter, Catherine Taylor; her devoted son, Charles J. Ripple, Jr. (Patricia); her granddaughters, Christina L. Cavey (William) and Annelle L. Ripple (Mark Lue); her step-grandsons, Jayson and Justin Marcarelli; her great-granddaughters, Alexis and Anna Cavey; and many nieces and nephews, and several special friends. Clare was loved by everyone. Heaven has gained an angel… she will be missed here on earth. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 535 Riverside Drive, Salisbury, MD. Father Christopher LaBarge will officiate. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD. Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 East Main Street, Salisbury, MD from 7-9 PM.
