Lucille Ethel “Pat” Riggs passed away peacefully in Salem, on June 24, 2012 just one month shy of her 88th birthday. Pat was known for her loving, generous, friendly nature, competitive spirit and her graciousness was a gift she gave to all. To her family she was simply “the perfect mother”. Pat ended each day in prayer for everyone she loved and for others who needed those prayers. Now she watches over us in Heaven.
Pat was born in McCloud, CA on July 25, 1924 to Nicholas and Marie Kontos. She graduated from McCloud High School in 1942. Her joys in life were doing anything with family, especially playing board and card games and going to Spirit Mountain. When she was younger, it was tennis, table tennis and bowling. She was also an avid Portland Trailblazers fan (Clyde Drexler was her man).
Preceding her in passing are her parents, her husband David and her sisters Stella, and Jeanette. She is survived by her sister Joanne Paul, children, Douglas “Bruce” Cameron, Nicholas Cameron, Greg Riggs, and Lynette (Riggs) Nobel. Many of her other blessings include her eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A viewing was held on Friday, June 29 from 9-10:30 am with a brief Graveside Service at 11:00 am at Belcrest Memorial Park. The Memorial Service will be Tuesday, July 3 at 2pm with reception to follow at Howell Edwards Doersksen with Rigdon Ransom Funeral Directors. Memorial donations may be made in Pat's name to All Nations Ministries P.O Box 921 Sisters, Oregon 97759. To share your memories and online condolences please visit www.HED-FH.com.
