Ben was born on April 3, 1950 in Gordon, Nebraska and was the son of Benjamin and Wanda (Jessen) Gardner. He graduated from Albany High School in 1968. He worked for Heinz Honey, Pepsi Cola and also helped out his father doing plumbing. He was a Communications Operator for KRKT for some time and owned and operated Trans Studio in Albany for 10 years. He was also the lead guitar player in the band, Mark 5.
On May 20, 2007, he married Cherry Aure in the Philippines. They made their home in Salem where Ben enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing with his electronics and operating his Ham Radio. He was a good man; funny, patient and kind. He was always concerned for others and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him
Ben is survived by his wife, Cherry, daughters, Aria and Elizabeth (husband, Aris), his mom, Wanda and his three granddaughters, Natali, Calista and Michelle.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 10 am – 5 pm at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen. Funeral service will be on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 1:00 pm also at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen. Burial will follow at Belcrest Memorial Park.
