Mr. S Robert Gilberg

Mr. S. Robert Gilberg of Peabody, entered into rest on Thursday, February 21, 2024, at the age of 102. Beloved husband to the late Doris Joy Gilberg for 71 years. Devoted father of Richard Gilberg, Nancy Gilberg, and Elizabeth Gilberg. Cherished grandfather of Adam and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Esther Gilberg, siblings Harold Gilberg, Ida Spitzer, Frances Castleman and his son Michael Gilberg.

He grew up in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School and Syracuse University. He raised his family in Peabody, Lynnfield, and Salem. He always loved playing sports growing up including baseball. He was a baseball coach in Lynnfield as well as season ticket holder for red sox night games. Loved skiing, playing tennis. Loved the ocean growing up as well as later on with family. Was an owner of racehorses, loved flying his plane and also being involved with many angel flights. Was in the navy as a radio technician on a mine sweeper. Graduated tool and die course from GE which he worked for many years. Graduated Syracuse University as an industrial engineer. He owned his own business (Columbia Plastics Inc.) in Lowell for many years manufacturing women's heels.

A Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 11am at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St, Salem, MA 01970. With interment to follow at Pride of Lynn Cemetery, Lake Shore Road, Lynn MA 01904.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice or to the Boston Symphony Orchestra located at 301 Mass Ave, Boston MA.
