Robert Everett Smith

Robert Everett Smith was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 31, 1931 to parents Everett and Goldie Smith. The youngest of four children, he was affectionately known as “Bobby”, by his three older sisters.

His Father moved the family soon after to Fayetteville, Arkansas where he was educated and graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1950.

As a young adult he served our country in three military branches; the Marines, Army and National Guard. For his time served in the Korean Conflict he received Military Honors.

In 1971, he married the love of his life, Angel Hutcherson, who has preceded him in death in 2011, after 40 years of marriage.

Robert worked 30 plus years at the V. A. Medical Center where he retired from his career as an Operating Room Surgical Nurse. “Smitty” as he was known by his co-workers and friends was always well liked and full of conversation.

He leaves to mourn his memory – Daughters, Vieta “Cookie” Anderson, Robin Robinson and Lisa Fogelman; Son, Antwon Anderson; Granddaughters, Shana Anderson and Kia Welbourn; Grandsons, Mathew Hammond and Zachany Fogelman; Great-Grandchildren, Keon Wilbourn and Kyra Wilbourn; Sister-in-laws, Barbara Powell and Rose Norfleet; and two Special Friends, Rita and Robert Ellis.

He was a model Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. He will be truly missed by all.

Visitation on Tuesday, September 1, 11:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at Kriegshauser West Mortuary, 9450 Olive Blvd., Olivette MO 63132. Interment with Military Honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery following Funeral Service.
