After serving in the Army Air Corp, he met the love of his life, Dorinne Phillips (deceased). They married in 1948 and settled in South Sacramento where together they raised four children. Paul worked as a salesman for Calvey Packaging until he retired in 1998. Paul and Dorinne could be seen in their heyday dancing to big band artists at numerous Sacramento locations, or enjoying a dinner out at Posey’s or Club Pheasant.
Paul’s devotion to his faith was steadfast. He was a rosary leader at St. Michael’s Catholic Church and later a parishioner at St. Stephen the First Martyr Catholic Church. Paul passed away on August 25, 2023 at 95 years old after years of spirited independence. Paul is survived by three of his four children, Laura, Cynthia, and Matthew, four of his five grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Meeting him in heaven is his son, Paul Daniel, and his granddaughter, Trysha.
Paul will be remembered for his bedrock constitution, his love for America, his commitment to his faith, and his sharp witticisms. A funeral mass for Paul will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 9:30 am at St. Stephen the First Martyr Catholic Church, 5461 44th St., Sacramento, CA 95820, with a graveside service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
