Mabel Jessie Sanfilippo, beloved mother of Evelyn Butera, Donna Harris, Robert Butera, Michael Butera and Paula Rispoli, passed away peacefully, Sunday evening, February 12, 2017 of heart failure. She was born on August 9, 1925, in Boston, Massachusetts. Mabel was pre-deceased by her husband John Sanfilippo. Eventually, she fell in love and married John Sanfilippo and was happily married until John’s death in 2000. Mabel worked both at Hiram Johnson and C.K. McClatchy High Schools until retirement age. Mabel was a wonderful wife and mother who had many dear friends. Along with her 4 children, Mabel is survived by 9 grandchildren, 22 great grand children and 1 great-great grand daughter. A memorial service in Mabel’s honor will be held Saturday Feb 18 at 11 am at RiverCity Calvary Chapel, 7322 Folsom Blvd in Sacramento.
