Kim moved to Bakersfield, CA in 1981 as an infant with her mother (who was pregnant with Jeremy at the time), Aunt Lorina and cousin Melissa. In Spring of 1995, she moved to Sacramento, CA. Years later she became a mother of three children, who were all born in Sacramento. Kim was a driven woman who persevered the dualities of life. Always keeping an uplifted spirit through the good and challenging times.
She was always supportive and the best listener--making you feel as if you were the only one on earth.
Kim played many roles in our family as a mother, daughter, “ Mimaw” (grandmother), sister, niece, cousin, and above all she was a loving friend.
Her friendship carried over to her professional life at Starbucks where she worked loyally for 8 years. Her infectious spirit was so contagious that upon her passing they closed the location for her fellow colleagues to grieve.
In 2020 Kim’s drive was in full force. Graduating with her GED while simultaneously obtaining her certification in Medical billing, working and raising her youngest daughter. Waking up as early as 4am for morning shifts and arranging her schedule for Bella.
In the same year, she purchased her first new car; a red cherry Kia Sol. Symbolizing another milestone of her achievements. This was her time to shine. And we could hear it through her music when she came down the street.
In 2021, Kim revealed the news that she was going to be a grandmother for the third time. She counted down the days for Laylinas birth and spent every chance she could to be with her eldest granddaughter Penelope-who called her “Mimaw” and her daughter Delilah. She was also so proud of her son Adrian graduating high school and his plans to enlist in the Army. Her best year wasn’t over, later in the year she was hired for a career position at a local orthopedic office as a medical biller. We were all so proud of her.
Kimberly is preceded in death by her mother Rose Ann Gomez, granddaughter Ariah Reign Galindo, and Uncle Frank G. Franco.
Kimberly is survived by her daughters, Bella Grant, Delilah Galindo and her husband Angel; son, Adrian Diaz; granddaughters, Penelope Rose and Laylina Galindo; brothers, Jeremy Sosa and Sean Felix; sister, Nina Felix; father, Castulo Sosa; stepfather, Weegee De Bernardi; grandmother, Margarita Gomez; great uncle, Joe Gomez; cousin, Melissa De La Cruz and many more; aunts, Lorina Franco, Sally Methola, Cecelia Mendoza; uncles, James (Jimmy) Gomez, Samuel Franco, David Gomez and many close friends she considered family.
