Joseph Louis Puleo was born April 2, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. He died March 27, 2017 in Sacramento, California with his loving wife Patti and devoted daughter Sonja by his side. Joe was 73 years old and passed peacefully due to complications from congestive heart failure as well as acute renal failure. He was a longtime resident of the Sacramento/El Dorado Hills area. Joe began his career in the Grocery Industry. Next, he worked for Prestige Service in Sacramento as a General Manager. His last job was with Southern Wine & Spirits of Northern California, retiring after 17 years as an Area Manager. Joe loved meeting new people and building relationships with them – it made him an excellent salesman. Joe married Saundra Moore in 1964. That union lasted 14 years and produced his only daughter, Sonja. In 1983, he married his second wife, Patricia. When Patti married Joe, she brought with her two additional daughters, Kerry and Kendra. Joe and Patti attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Folsom, CA for over 30 years. Joe thoroughly enjoyed serving as a Greeter and Usher. They also were part of the church’s Social Club (formerly known as the Mr. & Mrs. Club). In his younger days, Joe served in the California National Guard. He was a member of The Dante Club of Sacramento for 38 years where he also served as President in 1986. More recently, Joe was active in the Knights of Columbus (Council #6197 of Folsom and Assembly #1903 of Folsom) where he attained the 4th degree ranking. Over the years, Joe had many interests most of which involved the outdoors. From his father, Joe learned how to hunt and fish. He enjoyed pursuing deer, pheasants, ducks and fish. A favorite vacation spot for Joe and Patti was Topaz Lake. Joe is survived by his wife Patricia Puleo; daughter Sonja (Tony) Lindberg, step-daughter Kerry Raptis, step-daughter Kendra (Rick) Cramer; and sister Rosalee Leier. Grandchildren: Costa Raptis, Anthony Lindberg, Alyssa Lindberg, Audrey Cramer, Adam Cramer and Jared Lindberg. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Rose Puleo. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4th 5-7 pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home (5401 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento) followed by a Rosary at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 5th at 11am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (307 Montrose Dr., Folsom). Father Ignatius Haran will be officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or American Heart Association.
