Scarborough, ME Madeline Fournier 92, of Rumford died Tuesday March 23, at Gosnell House in Scarborough. She was born in Lewiston on October 22, 1928 a daughter of the late Edward and Katherine (Acheson) Benedix. She was educated in Rumford and graduated from Stephens High School class of 1948. Madeline married her true love, Edward B. Fournier, on July 30, 1949 and together they settled in Mexico and started to raise their family. As the family grew Madeline and Edward built their forever home on Hall Hill Rd. in Rumford. Edward passed on January 27, 2009.
She worked for several years making donuts at Food Town, Shop’ n Save, and Hannaford. Madeline enjoyed knitting sweater sets, hats, mittens, and beautiful crocheted doilies for her family. She loved fishing, traveling, spending time with family and friends, scratch tickets, and playing bingo and cards, especially Scat.
Madeline is survived by her three daughters, Susan Tarr and husband Maurice of South Carolina, Karen Eichler and husband Rick of Gorham NH, Sally Roy and husband Tim of Mexico, a son Timothy Fournier and wife Monique of Rumford, 11 Grandchildren: Rick, Elizabeth , Matthew, Michael, Jon, Ben and Chris, Heidi, Allison, Tim, and Alyssa.
Great-grandchildren, Isaac, Madeline, Cora, Henry ,Owen, Elliott, Christian, Eddie, Jonah, Kaleb, Blake, Jaxon, Patrick, Scott, Ryan, Kelsea, Caleb, Adi, Brady, Emmitt and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son David Fournier, her twin sister Geraldine Cyr, four sisters Margaret Conners, Etta Benedix, Irene Webster and Constance Gallant, and five brothers Edward, Robert, George, Richard and James Benedix.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery Civic Center Drive Augusta. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Thibault Remembrance Center 250 Penobscot St. Rumford 364-4366.
