William Taylor Underwood

Mr. William “Bill” Taylor Underwood, 96 of Roswell, GA passed away October 27, 2022. William was born January 17, 1926 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Harold William Underwood and Nancy Taylor Underwood Clarke.

He was a graduate of North Fulton High School and college graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Bill was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

He served proudly in the United States Army Infantry in World War Il and was stationed in the Pacific.

In business, he was Senior Vice President of Munich American Reassurance Company. Bill was a member and Volunteer of the Year with the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, a member of the Capital City Club, the Commerce Club, and Isacc Walton League.

Bill is survived by his children, Ardath Nancy Runion (Charlie), Kathleen Winston Bridges (Wade), William Reeve Underwood (Jan Lewis), 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, the Atlanta Humane Society, FurKids, or the Salvation Army.

A memorial service for William will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Martin In The Fields Episcopal Church, 3110 Ashford Dunwoody Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30319.
