William “Bill” Clifton Lynch, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at his home in Roswell, GA at the age of 65. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and a true friend - a kind, gentle, and humorous person.
Although he had spent the last 20 years in Roswell, he was born and grew up in Lebanon, Kentucky. Throughout life, Bill returned to his hometown almost every year for celebrations with family, golf outings, class reunions, and just to visit…he loved them all dearly. Bill graduated from Eastern Kentucky University, but remained a loyal University of Kentucky basketball fan. His joy was being with family, trips to Hilton Head, UK basketball, and golf. His genuine love of his family and his friends was truly apparent to all who knew him.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1972 and made his working career as a manager of operations with several companies. For the last 20 years, he worked with an aerospace metals company and was regarded by many fellow business associates as ‘the best VP of OPS’ working with national and international locations until his retirement mid 2013.
Bill is preceded in death by his son, Joshua Michael Lynch and his father, William C. Lynch, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Sharon A. Lynch, of 46 years; his son, William Isaac Lynch (Dana), his daughter, Amanda Ashley Lynch; his grandchildren: William Michael, Gabrielle Greer, and John Overton “Jack” Lynch. He is also survived by his mother, Naoma Shepperson (Earl), and his brothers: Danny Mitchell Lynch (Sherie) and Robert Joey Lynch (Sylvia).
A celebration of his life will be held at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, GA 30076 on Friday, March 27th at 3:00 pm with interment following the service at Green Lawn Cemetery. Visitation with family will be at 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
