Terry Wayne Jones was born on July 31, 1964 in Nuerenberg, Germany where his father was stationed in the military. After moving frequently during childhood, his family settled in Albany, Georgia where Wayne graduated from high school.
While attending college at Florida State, he came home to Panama City Beach, Florida, where his parents had opened an art gallery and met the love of his life, Rhonda Renee Krebs. Wayne graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1989, and after dating Rhonda for 2 years, moved to Panama City. In 1990, Wayne and Rhonda were married and moved to Tallahassee, Florida where Wayne began working toward his 2nd B.S. Degree in chemistry and Rhonda entered pharmacy school. Wayne worked hard during college to support the family doing anything from working in a chemistry lab to assisting in birthing cows on a physician’s farm. Wayne never minded hard work and never complained. He was so happy to be married and working toward his dreams that he would do whatever it took to reach that goal.
In 2003, Wayne graduated with his second bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and moved with Rhonda to Brandon, Florida. Wayne loved Florida and the couple traveled around on weekends experiencing the beach, variations in foliage, and the beauty of their surroundings. Wayne loved nature and travel. During their marriage, Rhonda and Wayne traveled abroad often. Wayne would have traveled constantly if he had the means.
In 2004, Wayne accepted a job as a systems analyst at the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Emory University Hospital. Wayne used his experience working in a cancer center to help a great number of people navigate their way through cancer treatment. He worked as a computer consultant in healthcare for the years following his time at Emory and started two corporations. He was an entrepreneur at heart.
The most important thing in Wayne’s life was his family. Wayne loved his wife and children with all of his heart and put them first in everything he did. Ransom, Carter and Jenson were his pride and joy. When they were babies, Daddy would walk through the door after work and quickly grab the baby from mom’s arms. For the rest of the night, mom would have to plead for time holding the baby – Daddy wanted to hold them constantly. He hugged and kissed them daily and told them he loved them. He talked about them to everyone and was so proud of each one of them. He was a fun Daddy. Rhonda was treated as a queen. A day did not go by when Wayne did not tell her he loved her and how beautiful he thought she was. He was affectionate and attentive.
Wayne loved God and served him by serving others. He had a firm belief in Jesus and shared this with his family. Wayne practiced love and hospitality. He always made others feel welcome and is remembered by most for his sense of humor and love he showed others. Wayne had an uncanny knack for carrying on conversations with complete strangers and enjoyed meeting people. Wayne paid special attention to anyone who took care of his prized possessions (his children) and truly appreciated them.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Rhonda; his children, Ransom, Carter, and Jenson; his mother, Merlyn Jones; father-in-law, David Krebs and wife Danielle; mother-in-law, Gwen Parris and husband Billy; brothers, Rick and Michael Jones, sisters-in-law, Kim Krebs, Janet Jones and Mary Jones; brother-in-law, Eric Krebs, nephews, Brandon, Cameron and Aron; and nieces, Courtney, Rachael and Rachel.
