Shannon Hargett Atkins, at the young age of 50, slipped away peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father November 14th, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on 8/02/1974 in Rock Hill, South Carolina to Diane Stegall and Windell Hargett.
Shannon grew up in Rock Hill, SC. Upon graduation in 1992 from Northwestern High School, Rock Hill she attended Pfeiffer University.
She was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents Ed & Mary Lois Hargett (Rock Hill, SC) and Maternal Grandfather Dennis Horne (Pacolet, SC).
She is survived by her husband William Richardson Atkins (Will), daughter Mary Inman Atkins, son William Banks Atkins, mother Diane Horne Stegall, stepfather Rick Stegall, father Windell Hargett, brother Ryan Hargett, Grandmother Patricia Hicks, and many other loving family members.
Shannon was devoted to her family and was a dear friend to many. To know Shannon was to love her. She was beautiful from day one, her laugh was contagious as well as her smile. Shannon’s greatest joy came from being Mom to Banks and Mary Inman and Will’s Forever Princess. Her love for Photography led to her Studio, Shannon Atkins Photography, where she captured special moments for many. Shannon was also an Underwriter for Arch Insurance. After her diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer in 2020 - Her Motto was FIGHT, FIGHT, WIN – FAITH, STRENGTH, HOPE AND LOVE. And that she did!
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 23 at Roswell Funeral Home 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, Ga. beginning at 10:00 AM. Funeral Services at Noon following Visitation. Burial will be Private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society for Ovarian Cancer research in memory of Shannon Atkins.
