I knew Sarah well during 1964 and 1965.  She was a truly wonderful human being; warm and caring with a special love for children and babies.  I have thought of her very often over the years as she changed the lives of those around her, always for the better.  I am sorry to post this so very late, but I had lost track of Sarah despite having tried several times to find her.  It was only now when searching online that I came on her obituary.  I am very sorry not to have been able to get in touch while she was still with us.  I have a number of pictures of Sarah and her family taken in 1964-65 and would be delighted to share them.  Helen will remember me.  I would be delighted to have a chance to speak with her and other members of the family.

It was 2008 that God brought Sarah into my life. She quickly became my self proclaimed Godmother. I had been praying for a mentor for a couple of months and when I needed one the most, the Lord led me to Sarah’s home in Palm Beach Gardens.  About a month before, my brother was looking for a vacation rental home for their visit to FL. My family and I greeted her at her own front door, weeks later.  Sarah came by to check on us and didn’t want to interrupt, but my Dad insisted she come in. We end up talking a couple of hours about our lives, we learned she used her home for Cherished Ministries but occasionally rented it out.  As our conversation continued, I knew that she was someone special. We exchanged phone numbers and I just remember being so thankful that we had met her and I knew she was the answer to my prayer! About a month later I hit a low in my life where I just really needed someone to talk to, and I thought of Sarah and got the courage to call her for the first time. She answered and invited me over right at that moment of my distress. It was then that Sarah would begin ministering to me and grow in our relationship that God had intended. I would go on to learn from all of with the wisdom that Sarah would impart through Bible studies and casual conversations. I joined her group studies, but we also met just her and I too, and she would walk me through parts of the Bible, the importance of integrity, how we have unique gifts, a purpose unto the Lord and lovingly shared how God has worked in her life, while never judging mine.  I still have the studies that we’ve done, crown, and even voicemails that she’s left.  I know I am a better woman, because of the time that she invested in me. She was a Godmother and friend and provided comfort, love, all the fruits of the spirit. I am beyond blessed and thankful to have had an angel on this earth speak life into me, and she   will always be remembered and missed dearly. I love you, Sarah!

I met Sarah in a bible study with precious Alyssa Stanley.   When Sarah moved from South Florida, I had the privilege of having mentorship to Alyssa passed on to me.  Sarah was a gift to my life, when I went through a very tough time in my life, Cherish ministries was there for me.  Sarah was an exemplary leader for Christ.  I will never forget her.   Her last name Roberts was the same as my
Maiden name Roberts.  We discovered that we both lived in Lake Tahoe at the same time period.  And her new married name Powell is the same as mine.  We met our husbands around the same 
time.  She has made a forever footprint in my heart.  Her love for Jesus and her prayer life was evident in all she did.   I am so grateful that God crossed our paths.  I can picture her in Heaven  with that beautiful smile of hers bringing such joy to the heart of her Father in Heaven.  

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” Sarah Roberts has been promoted to Glory and has been received by Christ, our Lord.

We first met Sarah in Atlanta through our friend Virginia in 2006. Our friendship flourished immediately. We visited her home in Florida and that of her son in Atlanta. She accepted our invitation and came to visit us in Kenya in 2007. We were captivated by her anointing, love, and compassion, especially for those less
fortunate. When she was here in Kenya, she fulfilled the gospel of Mathew 25:35 which says “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” She was a spirit-filled humanitarian, visiting slums in very poor areas to feed those who
were hungry and thirsty. We were amazed by her love and tender care for all she met.

Later, we decided to take her on a Kenyan game drive safari. We enjoyed her company as we lodged at the foot hills of Mount Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa. We had a wonderful time as we celebrated her birthday at the Serena Hotel in downtown Nairobi. As we bid each other farewell, she gave us a set of lapel pins which were shaped as miniature crowns for a “King” and “Queen.”

Our Dear Sister Sarah Roberts, though you have departed from the body, you remain in our hearts and memories. We love you and miss you. Till we meet again,
Rest in Eternal Peace.

In the somber embrace of today, I Bishop Dr. JJ Gitahi bid farewell and pay tribute to a remarkable woman, a mother in the ministry—a shining beacon of light in the world of Christian missionary work. With a heavy heart, I honor the life, legacy, and profound impact of our beloved mother -  Sarah Robert, who has now embarked on her final journey to be with her heavenly Father.
Sarah Roberts, whose life was marked by unwavering devotion, selflessness, and deep faith in God, leaves behind a powerful legacy. When she came to Nairobi, Kenya for a seven-day convention it was evident she dedicated her life to spreading the gospel and sharing the love of Christ with people across borders, cultures, and circumstances. With over two thousand people in attendance, many became missionaries and great speakers in the body of Christ, and broken families were restored bringing hope to children. 
Her unwavering commitment to her calling inspired awe and admiration in all who knew her. Her interpreter sister Lilian Young and her chief usher sister Loise during the convention, are now reverends and founders of the women's ministry. Through her words, she encouraged us to strive for spiritual growth, to embrace diversity, and to extend a helping hand to those in need.
Her life was a testament to the transformative power of love and compassion. She embraced the marginalized, the forgotten, and the oppressed with open arms, offering them solace, dignity, and the message of redemption. Her acts of kindness and selfless service have left an indelible mark on the hearts of countless individuals whose lives she touched.
As we mourn the loss of our dear mum, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the seeds of faith she planted.

I met with Sarah Roberts at Priesthood Fellowship Church in Nairobi-Kenya, through my Bishop J.J. Gitahi, where she ministered so powerfully and I happened to be her interpreter all the days she ministered there. I remember vividly the message she preached on the last day  *"The Crown of Glory"* where she finally put crowns on us as princesses. 

Sarah Roberts was a model of love, compassion, and generosity. I also noted lots of Humility, Integrity, 
Respect of self and of others and always had a smile. She was highly  admired by many during her stay in Kenya.

Her mission was one that made me an *International Interpreter* and later an ordained minister she made a great difference in the lives of many people. She was someone people loved to floric around, a beautiful soul inside out. 

This is unacceptable but it has become the truth. You are forever gone. But we’ll keep you alive in our hearts. 

Spread your wings and fly proudly. You have earned it!

My heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies for the loss of your beautiful mother! She was a wonderful lady with a charming and endearing personality! I will always remember her bubbling, friendly, and loving nature. She had never met a stranger! She was a great conversationalist. I loved being with her, although it was only on rare occasions! She loved her children so much so that she selflessly gave her time to help them out. One great example of it was  
when she came over to Frisco, TX to stay with her daughter Amy and her son-in-law Stan to take care of the newborn Ava for nine months, although it must have been difficult  leaving her husband Robert behind in Atlanta. Forsaking her own health (She was not in good health at this time), she came to help out her daughter. She told me, "this is Amy's time." I will miss you, Sarah!
