Robert "Bob" Warren Scruggs, 77, passed away on June 29, 2024, in Marietta, GA. Born on August 5, 1946 (to the late Warren and Mary Katherine Scruggs), Bob grew up in Del Rio, TN. After graduating from Cocke County High School, he joined the Marine Corps and honorably served during the Vietnam War where he bravely participated in the Battle of Khe Sanh. He was a member of the Marine Corps Silent Drill Team, getting to perform on the Ed Sullivan Show, and was part of the Presidential Guard for President Lyndon Johnson.
After his military service, Bob met the love of his life, Nanci Heinzer, in Washington, DC. Within six weeks, they knew they were soulmates and married. They lovingly shared 43 years of marriage. Together, they lived in many places due to his career in medical sales, eventually retiring to Hilton Head. Following Nanci's passing, Bob moved to Marietta to be close to his children and grandchildren.
Bob was deeply devoted to his family, cherishing his role as a father and Pappy. He is survived by his children, Robert W. Scruggs II (Mary), Kimberly Bradigan (Greg), and Amy M. Raminger (Chris); grandchildren, Madison and Tripp Scruggs, and Savannah Bradigan. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nanci; grandson, Nicholas Bradigan; and sister, Polly Willard.
No service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, https://www.lung.org/ in Bob's memory.
