You left such an impression on myself and Adrian and this hard for us to this day grasp. Thank you for all the information you have given and we will continue to grow and learn more in the financial industry. 

Lil Rick, although a cousin, seemed more like an unc.  (generational gap)

My  memories of him are wrapped up in joy , warmth and loving times of hanging with Uncle Rick & him in Detroit. 

He knew how to leave an outstanding mark that will continue to proceed him, as it had preceded him when he was alive. 
He reminds me of the scripture in Ecclesiastes 7:1a " A good name is better than good oil.” Rick's name, his reputation has stuck with me since I was 7 years old and despite his passing, continues to grow in depth and beauty.  I appreciate the wondrous memories he left me with many years ago.  And although i lost the chance while he was alive, I appreciate that my memories of Lil Rick are being further illuminated by the loving memories shared by everyone here.

Death , although a part of life,  all the while grieving this heartbreaking loss, some things that brings me some comfort are the love and support I see the family receiving and that we are never alone during these times.( Psalm 34:18) Some things hare hard to formulate into snatches, but we have God even closer to us in times of need. 

One holy writing describes death as a “sting[ing]” “enemy”.
(1 CORINTHIANS 15:26, 55) It is just that and more. 

Although this loss will seem like something that just happened, over time the sting’s intensity will change. 
In my experiences the love never ceased but the shattering heartbreak did get some relief.

With a heavy heart I write this growing up in southwest Detroit me and Rick was childhood friends and neighbors and we considered ourselves family as I grew close to his family.I was broken hearted when I received the call of his passing. We don't understand GOD all the time but we know he is perfect in all his ways.Im praying for his wife and kids thru this process. I truly looked up to you’re definitely a great example of what a man supposed to be. Richard always had a genuine and godly spirit about him that I immediately noticed the day I met them. He naturally made me feel like family. I remember the day he met my husband, and my husband has the best discernment I’ve came across & my husband instantly connected with Rich.

Rich is a soul the world gained so much from, and a person I’ll personally be so grateful to have met. Such casual encounters that left such an impact on me as an individual.

The reality of your passing still hasn’t set in. It’s like a dream. I know how heartbroken you were to lose your mom and dad so close together.  I keep recalling our most memorable moments from our childhood through adulthood. Laughing and crying at the same time. Recalling how you wouldn’t let anyone bother me. You were one of my biggest cheerleaders in all aspects of my life. You telling people don’t mess with my sister because she’s crazy. Lol Me telling you to stop telling people that. My nephew ...My little brother Richard Welch Jr. aka "Lil Rick" aka "Doo Doo Bug". I love you. I miss you... it's gonna be hard.  You were such a big personality. Everyone who came in contact with you felt important. Everyone who shared your space felt as though you cared about every word they said. You were your father's son... the spirit of your grandfather lived in your soul. 

A true entrepreneur and leader. Your ambitious independent nature was infectious.  I ADMIRED YOU. I RESPECTED YOU. I AM PROUD OF YOU. I bragged on you, nephew,  anytime I could.  We talked  business, family, religion, politics, old memories and love for one another. Man I will miss that.

Monique and the children will be well taken care of as long as I am alive.  Baby Rick will be covered, as Big Rick did for me -- as General Welch would expect it to be done and as Marie Welch showed us every day.  They have shelter under my roof. I know that's why you said goodbye so unexpectedly because we made that pact when Big Rick said goodbye. 

I love you Doo Doo Bug, it's hard to stop writing. I wish this could never end. Just like our conversations, we just flowed from one subject to another. In my prayers and in my alone time I will be calling you to pick up where we left off. Tell Momma, Daddy, Ricky, and Ronnie I miss and love them too. Until the next time Bug. I love you.

Well…. This is difficult, I struggled to think about what to say? Lil Rick, my cousin ! It all started 907 Bemis SE. GR MI,  our unbreakable bond . We were never too far away to say “I love you cousin , no matter what” The last few months were majestic , the intimate talks, laughs and cries were absolutely breathtaking, and will forever be a fond memory in my heart. I must say gone too soon, although I know god is always in charge . Thank you for being you , never changing and always keeping our love genuine . Until we meet again ! Richard, you were such a motivating and inspiring person. I am grateful to have the chance to work with you and we became friends. I remember how you would randomly reach out to check up on me. When we were at EEIC, Richard was a consistent encouragement to me. I can see the look in his eyes from the front row while I led morning prayer, that this man was a BROTHER and felt good enough about himself to encourage another Brother. So it is beyond ironic that I will be preaching this Sunday the same time as the service. I would love to say that Richard saw this on my life before others. Visionary, sharp shape-up, classy, Godly, honorable, but most of all, LOVED his Queen and his children. Blessings to you, Monique. Richard Welch was so many things; I struggle to define for you the depth of our all too short but so impactful relationship.  He was a genuinely open caring person that was strong enough to lead, follow or get out of the way when necessary.  He was one of my most trusted friends and confidants even though we only met in 2016.  He was truly like my little brother. We could and would talk and discuss anything and everything for hours on end to the point where we would have to schedule our time together so we would not run over.  We had so much in common, Love and respect for GOD, our children and our wife’s because we were both lucky enough to marry our soulmates.  
I know I’m not alone when I say that I’m struggling to make sense out of why GOD would choose to take our Richard away so soon.  But then I remind myself that GOD does not make mistakes and that he needs his Angel back sooner than we would like to return him.  

To Monique and family may God bring you as much peace and comfort as possible in this time of extreme loss.
