Mary Lois Patton

Mary Lois Honea Pealor Patton was the daughter of Ruth Ione Cauthen Honea and Arthur Lee Honea, Sr. She was born in Dublin, Georgia on November 24, 1926. On March 16, 2021 at the age of 94, Mary Lois passed away in Roswell, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Robert Wayne Pealor is 1971 and Wesley Horace Patton in 2010, siblings Thelma Louise Bradford, Willie Kathryn White, John Garver Honea, and William Delmar Honea. Survivors: Daughters Kathryn Pealor Vinson (Bill) and Sharon Pealor Burckhalter, and brother Arthur Lee Honea, Jr. (Charlotte), Stepchildren: Sandra June Patton, Wesley Thomas Patton and William Lawrence (Gail) Patton. Grandchildren; Michael Edward Vinson (Traci), David Wayne Vinson (Jennifer), Rebekah Leigh Massey (Stan), Heather Leane Pennell (Wilson), Gayle Engel Risse (Matt), and

Vanessa Engel Hilton (Bobby). In addition she had 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Hobbies: Mary Lois loved to play cards (Skipbo), Bunko, reading and travel. Some of her travel took her to the Caribbean, Hong Kong, China, Korea, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Alaska, Germany and Scotland. She was a member of Red Hats and loved her “sisters” luncheons.

Mary Lois was a long-time member of Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. Services will be at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd. Roswell, GA 30076. Viewing from 10-11 AM, Service at 11:00 AM on March 27, 2021. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Decatur, GA. Services will be held by Rev. Robert Turnbull of First Baptist Church of Roswell.

She was a child of the Great Depression, and it greatly impacted her life. Because of this she had a zeal for life. She dropped out of school and married at age 15. Mary Lois had several jobs but she retired from Bigelow Carpet Company after 35 years. Mary had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help including family and friends. She loved her family and extended family very much and always made them feel welcome. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.
