Mary Elizabeth Carroll, 83 of Dunwoody/Roswell, GA passed away September 12, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born July 12, 1932 in New York City to Margaret Ryan Coyne and John Patrick Coyne.
She is survived by her daughters and son in laws, Colleen and Ron Alu; Maureen and John Geiser; Christine and Kevin Fleming and Katie Carroll; sons and daughters-in-law Tommy and Sueann Carroll; Jerry and Cindy Carroll and John Carroll; 10 grandchildren; TJ Carroll, Kevin Carroll, Jessica Carroll, Casey Carroll, Ryan Carroll, Matthew Carroll, Emily Carroll, Conner Carroll, Keegan Alu and Taylor Alu; and niece Alice Moro.
She married Gerard Joseph Carroll on September 15, 1956.
She graduated from Cathederal High School in New York City in 1949. She has many lifelong friends from her days in the City and Atlanta. She enjoyed her time with her friends playing cards, bunko, book club and just enjoying conversations with her great friends.
She was a pioneer and traveled extensively. Some of her favorite memories were visiting her family in Ireland. She loved her family and spending time with them meant the world to her. She was incredibly dedicated to her church and her religion.
She held several positions at Con Edison in the city before she started her family.
Mary was a kind soul, a generous and sweet person who would do anything under the sun for everyone she met. She was beloved by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Mass will be held Wednesday September 16th, 2015 at 10:30am at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church. 7171 Glenridge Drive, Atlanta, GA 30328.
The family will receive family and friends from 6pm-8pm at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076.
