Marilyn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 28, 1947 to Gustave and Marie Lauch. She married Clifford Leo Mohrhaus, also of Cincinnati, on July 26, 1969. She received her undergraduate degree in Home Economics from Edgecliff College and later went on to earn a certificate in Interior Design from El Centro College in Dallas, TX. Her passions in life were cooking, interior design, holidays, dogs (especially her “Golden Gang”), and most importantly, her family. Marilyn started her career as a teacher before discovering her “dream job” – raising her three children who were her pride and joy. Marilyn's greatest wish was to someday become a grandmother, a wish that came true in the last year with the birth of her precious grandson.
Marilyn (aka M2) was best known for her caring nature toward those around her. She always remembered others and put them before herself. In her most giving act, Marilyn stood by the side of her husband, Cliff, for over a decade as he battled Alzheimer’s Disease. He will miss her presence dearly.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law and several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Cliff, her children (Craig Mohrhaus, Christine Hale, and Cindy Breese), those she thought of as her children (Andrea Mohrhaus, Sean Breese, Wes Hale and Robert Jacobs), her grandson (Alan Mohrhaus), several beloved “grand-puppies,” and many dear friends who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Roswell Funeral Home Chapel, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076. Burial will immediately follow at Green Lawn Cemetery (adjacent to the funeral home). After the interment, guests are invited to join the family back at the funeral home for a reception.
In lieu of flowers, Marilyn’s children request donations be made to the Marilyn Mohrhaus Memorial Fund benefitting Cliff’s ongoing Alzheimer’s care and Baby Alan’s future education:
