On December 1, 2024, Margaret Ann Gowens was reconciled in Heaven with her savior Jesus Christ. She was 83. Born in Leonard, Texas to parents Herschel Wayne and Johnnie Nell Cox, Margaret was a faithful Christian for all of her life. She graduated from Amarillo High School in Amarillo, Texas and went to Texas Tech University where she earned a degree in education. After college, she married her high school sweetheart, John W. Gowens II, and lovingly raised 3 sons.
Always present with a smile, Margaret continuously looked for ways to spend time with family and friends. Bringing people together, especially her grandchildren, brought her great joy. Her talents for baking were well known and enjoyed by many throughout the years. She made friends everywhere she went, and was dedicated to keeping in touch with many people.
She is survived by her sons, Chris Gowens, Lance (Traci) Gowens, Colin Gowens; 8 grandchildren: Michelle, Sierra, Ivey, Riley, Caitlin, Matias, Ryan, and Tomas; and a loving extended family and friends that miss her dearly.
Margaret’s celebration of life will take place at 1pm, December 28, 2024 in Roswell, Georgia.
