Troy was born to William Clay Smith and Pamela Harris Smith on April 24, 1980, in Birmingham, Alabama. He lived in Trussville, Alabama until 1984 when his family moved to Roswell, Georgia. Troy graduated from Roswell High School in 1999 and graduated from Auburn University in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree of Political Science. During his time at Auburn, Troy was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity. Troy served as a project manager for a variety of large scale general and electrical contractors before founding his company, Picture Hanging ATL. Troy was a creative artist and was the driving force in his company which provided picture hanging, interior design, and gallery wall art installations for families and businesses. His installations were one-of-a-kind displays that celebrated the unique identities of his clients. Troy had a gifted eye for design and could create a vision that would stand out in any setting.
Troy was extremely athletic and had a passion for all types of sports. He was a lifelong fan of the Auburn Tigers, Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. He was also well-read on a variety of subjects spanning from current events to ancient history. He had a deep appreciation of art and music and enjoyed playing several musical instruments as a hobby. Troy was a kind and generous person, and he was known for his sense of humor which could lift anyone’s spirits.
His memory will be cherished by his brother and his sister-in-law, Jason Bradley Smith (Brad) and Lauren Gilbert Smith, and their children, his niece and nephew, Emily Victoria Smith, and Emerson Bradley Smith, as well as many extended family members and friends.
Troy is preceded in death by his father, William Clay Smith, his mother, Pamela Harris Smith, his grandfather William Arnold Smith, his grandmother Arritta Louise Smith, his grandfather, Frank Harris, and his grandmother Dorothy Kibbey Harris.
The Smith family will receive family and friends on August 24 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Roswell Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Roswell Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Tyler officiating. Committal and burial will follow immediately at Green Lawn Cemetery & Mausoleum directly behind the funeral home.
