Joshua Neal Starkey

As a young boy Joshua was very curious, talked non-stop, and loved dinosaurs and Disney World. Joshua also loved the water. The summers were filled with summer camps at Roswell Park, neighborhood swim team, going to the beach, camping and swimming at Red Top Mountain, and tubing at his Grandparents at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia.

Joshua was a graduate of Fellowship Christian School, where he played middle school football, high school lacrosse, and played the base on the worship team. Joshua also attended Boys State.

Joshua was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2010. As a Scout Joshua camped over a hundred nights, hiked many trails, and attend Sea Base.

Joshua was a senior at Kennesaw State University, working towards a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. His passion was computer gaming. One of his dreams was to pursue a career in the computer gaming industry. While in school, Joshua also started doing commercial art and design work for one of his friends clothing lines in the gaming industry.

Joshua accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very young age, was baptized at the age of 12, and participated in the Senior High Group at Fellowship Bible Church.

Joshua was a friend to many, very kind, generous (almost to a fault), had a very big heart, and gave the best bear hugs ever.

Joshua is survived by his father and mother, Neal and Stacy Starkey, his brother, Samuel Starkey, his Grandmother, JoAnn Hodges, his Grandparents, Bart and Pat Starkey, and many other loving family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boy Scouts of America.

Due to Statewide COVID-19 restrictions, visitations and funeral services are required to be limited. There will be a private visitation Tuesday, May 26th, and a private funeral service on Wednesday, May 27th, at Roswell Funeral Home.
