Hiram Bobo, Jr. age 82 of Johns Creek, GA died April 30, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Haney Bobo. He is survived by his two sons and their wives, Hiram III and Ofelia Bobo of Gibson, GA; Richard and Christi Bobo of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren, Mariann Alexandra "Alex" and John-Howard of Las Vegas, NV, and his two beloved pets Boots and Bubbles.
Hiram retired from General Motors, Doraville Plant, where he held the position of plant safety director with 32 years of service.
Hiram has been an active layman in the North GA United Methodist Conference for many years, having held many positions at the local church, district and conference levels. He was elected by the laity of the North GA Conference four times to the highest body of the United Methodist Church, the General Conference.
After retirement, he was employed by Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, as director of properties, until 1993. He was then employed part time with Roswell Funeral Home, Sandy Springs Chapel and Woodstock Funeral Home.
Hiram was a veteran of the US Army, having served as a medical laboratory specialist.
Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, North Campus 2850 Old Alabama Rd., Johns Creek, GA 30022, Thursday, May 4, 2017, at 2:00 pm with visitation held prior from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm. Dr. R. Warren Lathem, Rev. Mike Roper, Rev. Steve Wood and Pastor Valorie Deel officiating. Interment immediately following at Green Lawn Cemetery, Roswell, GA.
