Gloria Mercedes Harris

Mrs. Gloria Mercedes Harris, age 89 passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Andrews Memorial Hospital. Gloria was born on Friday, December 18, 1925 in Kingston, Jamaica, daughter of the late Vicente and Juanita Cantero. She was a devout Roman Catholic and was member of the Altar Guild, the Legion of Mary and attended daily mass. She worked for Shell Oil Company in Jamaica for 32 years and at American Express in the US for 13 years. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Arthur Noel Harris; sisters, Luz Rayburn, Zoila DePass, Lily Sabio, Theresa Camp; brothers Bibi, Ramon and Polon Cantero.

Survivors include her 7 children Charmaine (Diane) Harris, Arthur (Anne) Harris, Anthony (Angie) Harris, Michael Harris, Anne-Marie (Tim) Dow, Stephen (Brenda) (Patricia) Harris and Cristina (John) Kincade. Her 10 grandchildren, Monique and Dain Harris, William Nendza and Christelle Harris, Jeffrey and Sabrina Dow, Christopher, Matthew, and Daniel Harris, Olivia Kincade and her great-grandson Kai.

Committal Service for Mrs. Gloria Mercedes Harris will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:30 am at Green Lawn Cemetery & Mausoleum, Chapel of Peace. Rev. Paul Flood will officiate.
