Christine (Chris) Diane Sorrentino, 79, of Roswell, Georgia died the 11th of May at home surrounded by her family and friends. Chris was born May 2, 1939 in Buffalo, New York to Ted and Gertrude Mazur. She graduated from South Park High School at the top of her class. It was at South Park High School where she met the love of her life, Bob Sorrentino. Chris and Bob were married for 58 years. Chris attended Albany State College of New York. She began her career at S.C. Johnson and Son as an executive assistant before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family. Chris enjoyed golf, bridge, and socializing with her many friends. She was a two-time Ladies Senior Golf Champion at The Country Club of Roswell and a Life Master Duplicate Bridge Player. She was a fabulous dancer and the life of the party. She enjoyed humor and jokes, bargain hunting, and had a flair for fashion and interior decorating. Chris is survived by her beloved husband, Bob Sorrentino; her daughter Nancy Byrd and husband Charles, her son Bob Sorrentino, Jr. and wife Peggy, her son Don Sorrentino and wife Alba, her daughter Michelle Sorrentino Lang and husband Chris, and her brother Michael Mazur. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Elliott Byrd, Carson and Chase Lang, and Carla Jara. Chris was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frederick Mazur. A memorial service will be held on May 31st at Saint Brigid Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. The Church is located at 3400 Old Alabama Rd., Johns Creek, GA 30022. A Celebration of Chris’s life will be held following the memorial service at the Country Club of Roswell. The address is 2500 Club Springs Dr., Roswell, GA 30076. In lieu of flowers, for those who desire, you may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Saint Brigid Catholic Church.
