Cheryl was a beloved daughter and sister; she was known for her friendly and infectious personality, sense of humor and her love of music, dance, and swimming!
Cheryl graduated from New Bedford High School and was a successful Special Olympics athlete. She touched the lives of countless individuals through her friendly and outgoing personality. Cheryl never met a stranger and always had a kind word of encouragement for everyone.
She will be deeply missed by her immediate family; Step mother Sheila Aitken of Peachtree City. Brother’s Steve Aitken and his wife Cheryl, Kenneth Aitken and his wife Natalie, Paul Aitken and his wife Diane, Billy Aitken and his wife Dana, Johnny Aitken and his wife Sarah, and Cheryl’s favorite sister Ellie Mae Byars and her husband Chad. As well as her numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. In addition, to her many Friends at InCommunity especially her roommates of many years Abbie and Shawn. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father Kenneth S. Aitken of Peachtree City, Georgia and mother Marilyn Ruth Aitken of New Bedford, Massachusetts.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 13, at 3:00PM at Roswell Funeral Home, located at 950 Mansell Rd. Roswell, GA 30076, to celebrate Cheryl’s life and honor her contributions that enriched so many lives. A reception will be held from 1:00PM to 3:00PM preceding the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to InCommunityga.org or Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org in memory of Cheryl Lee Aitken.
