Betty Alderman Dixon

Betty Alderman Dixon, 91 of Peachtree Corners, GA passed away on February 21, 2020. Mrs. Dixon was a very caring lady who was sensitive to the needs of others and always willing to help when needed. She loved the outdoors and could often be seen walking in her neighborhood. She was very creative and especially enjoyed sewing, knitting, china painting, gardening and cooking. She liked to travel and was always ready to go anywhere, but especially to the beach. She had a special heart for senior adults and in her early 70’s she started a ministry through her church for the nursing homes in her area. She graduated from Georgia State Woman’s College in Valdosta, GA in 1949.

Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph John Dixon Jr.; parents, Corbett and Janie Alderman; and sister, Martha Dell Reams.

She is survived by daughters, Pam King and Jane Dixon; and granddaughters Laura King and Erin King.

Services for Mrs. Dixon will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church located at 2715 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305. There will be a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
