With great sadness we announce the passing of David Junior Garrett. He was born August 4, 1953 in Livingston, Tennessee, then moved to Michigan in 1963. He and wife Susan Garrett, celebrated 50 years of marriage and currently reside in Harrison Township, Michigan. On April 19, 2024, at the age of 70 David lost his battle with cancer, peacefully at home surrounded by family.
David was the beloved husband and best friend of Susan, father of Christie (Eric) Baird, Daniel (Christina) Garrett, and Adam (Cassie) Garrett. Grandfather of Devin, Olivia, Logan Payton, Hailey, and Connor. Honorary grandfather of Abbi and Billie. And honorary great grandfather of Jacari and Khy’len. He is survived by his mother Ruby Garrett, brother James (Mickey) Garrett, sister Joan (Gary) Morowiec, sister Sandy Garrett. Those that precede him is his father Dave Garrett, brother John Garrett, sister Linda Livingston, father-in law Victor Lootens and mother in-law Delores Lootens.
David had a passion for life and enjoyed many things. He loved old cars and going to car shows. He was always on the hunt for rare coins and dollar bills. Traveling and seeing the world made him happy. He loved planting flowers in his garden and visiting the green houses. Everyone knew that Elvis Presley was his favorite, just by the cut of his hair. Nothing though, compared to the love that he had for his family. He never found anything that he couldn’t fix. He always had a kind word and smile for everyone and made friends wherever he went. You will be greatly missed.
