He was born in Auburn, Ca on August 12th 1943. He was a resident of Loomis, residing in his childhood home. He married Alice in 1965 and celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in June. Richard worked for Southern Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years. He was the last steam crane operator in Roseville.
He is survived by his wife Alice, daughter and son-in-law Angie and Paul, son and daughter-in-law Richie and Kelli, his sister and brother-in-law Rolie and Gene Graye, his step brother Larry Borrelli and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his father CC Dickinson, his mother Esther Davis and his sister Mari Jo Dolphin. Richard was loved by all of his grandchildren, Samantha, Steven, Dakota, David, Lyndsey, Kymberly, Krysten and Kabryna and his great grandchildren, Allison, Weston, Wade, Finn, Bailee, Brantley, Richard, Kenneth, Mackenzie, Riley, Haley and Tyler and he loved each and every one of them.
Richard loved to fish and enjoyed attending fishing derby’s with his railroad buddies. He was a craftsman who would make anything from trailers to parts that he couldn’t find. He enjoyed seeing the many deer that visited his property, he had a love for animals and any that would wander onto the property would be made a pet. Buddy and Yodi, his pups, and Eco and Herc his cats, were just a few of the wanderers. He especially loved his yorkie Cocoa.
Richard’s daily naps while watching Gunsmoke with Cocoa and his sweet little redhead Allison were extra special. He will be truly missed each and every day.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday August 12th 2021 at the New Hope Church, formerly the Loomis Grange Hall, 6486 Colwell Road Penryn Ca. from 2p.m. to 6 p.m. Officiated by Wilbur David Roper Jr.
