Louise Margaret Shafer

Louise Margaret Shafer, also known as, Mom Shafer, Gram Shafer, or Gram's, slipped off peacefully to Heaven Monday Morning at the Roseville Kaiser Hospital on December 21, 2015 at the young age of 92.

Gram's broke the bonds of her Memory Loss to join her Husband, Dale Murell Shafer, in Heaven. We know that they are already Dancing, Smiling, and Laughing with our other Relatives and Friends who have passed on before us...

Gram's was born in Gibbon, Nebraska on October 31, 1923. Born on Halloween, she loved to dress up on her Special Day.

Gram's grew up on the Cagler Family Farm in Nebraska and graduated from Kearney High School.

She married her longtime friend, school mate and Husband, Dale. They raised a loving family of 4 children as they lived in Kearney, Nebraska; Aberdeen, Washington; and Roseville, California. She was a Wife, Mother, Mother in Law, Grand Mother, Great Grand Mother and Great-Great Grand Mother, Sister, Sister in Law, Aunt, Cousin and Friend.

Gram's was "Loved" by all who met and knew her... Once you met her, she became your Mom or Gramma too...

When asked about her occupation, we would have to say that she was a "Caregiver". She was the glue that held our Family together for 40 years after her husband died at a young age.

Louise is survived by her 4 Children: Diane Watts, Dale Jr. Shafer, Jack Shafer, and Suzy Pratt and their Spouses, Children, and Grand Children. She is also survived by a Brother, three Sisters and their Spouses.

Gram's loved Dancing. She and her husband Dale would glide around the Dance Floor like they never touched the floor. They were a Treasure to watch!!

She also loved playing cards and Bingo with her Family and Friends.

Gardening was her Joy. She grew the best Tomatoes, tended with Love. The whole Family would fight to see who would get the first taste of her yearly crop. There was always enough to go around...as she tended to 75 plants the last year she was able to be on her own.

She will be truly missed, but, at the same time our Family is overjoyed that she will be able to share her Memories again with all who have gone before her and welcomed her into Paradise.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd, Roseville, CA 95678 on Monday, January 4th, 2016, at 11:00 AM. The Services will continue with Graveside Prayers as she is laid to rest next to her Husband Dale at the Roseville Cemetery.

The "Celebration of Life" will conclude with a gathering of Family and Friends to share memories and stories at the Maidu Community Center - Reception Hall, 1550 Maidu Drive, Roseville from approximately 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
