Carol Anne Hubbard was born February 28, 1939 in Pomona, California to Fred and Ruth Seifken. In 1958, she moved to Chico, California to attend Chico State University where she majored in education. During her education experience she met the love of her life, George Hubbard, and they were married in June of 1960.
George was blessed with a career with PG&E and their family grew. Adding Daughter Phyllis; Daughter Marsha; and their Son Arthur. The Hubbard’s predominantly raised their family In Pleasanton, CA and she was heavily involved in quilting and associated organizations as well with Rainbow Girls with her daughters. In 1986, they relocated to Fresno, California where they got to spend a lot of time with their grandchildren and create amazing memories and experiences. In 1996, they decided they were done with the heat and relocated again to Paradise, California where the trees grew like weeds.
In 2009, they experienced their first great loss with the passing of their son Arthur “Art” at the young age of 44. On November 8th, 2018 their lives would change dramatically again as they were evacuated through the horrific events of the Paradise Camp Fire and lost everything they owned in the days that the fire continued to consume their hometown. After much family discussion the family, three generations worth, relocated to Rocklin/Lincoln area. In February 2022, they experienced yet another great loss with the passing of their daughter Marsha at the young age of 58. On December 27, Carol’s long amazing, although sometimes difficult life came to an end with her daughter Phyllis by her side.
Carol was an amazing hugger, a fabulous quilter and seamstress. She left us with many memories, love in our hearts and a hole that will never be filled. She is a breast cancer survivor, a fighter for her children, and a wonderful woman who many will miss.
She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ruth Seifken, her son Arthur, and her daughter Marsha.
She is survived by her loving husband George, her daughter Phyllis, Granddaughters Jessica and Jamie; great granddaughter Kayleigh; and great grandson Casey; as well as many other family members and friends.
Carol will be laid to rest in Washington state alongside her children.
