Following her graduation from Darlington School she trained in medical massage therapy and worked in both Atlanta and Rome.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jayne Autry, maternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Jack Townes, and paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. W.C. “Buck” Autry.
She is survived by her son Samuel Kegan Autry, father Michael Rhodes Autry, stepmother Julie Autry, sister Hannah, nephew Silas and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Her family would like to express their deep appreciation to the many, many wonderful friends who supported Shammah over the last nine years as she struggled with cancer, diabetes and kidney failure.
A celebration of Shammah’s life will take place Saturday January 7th at 4:00 in the Wilder Center at Rome First UMC, 202 E 3rd Avenue. Visitation will follow the service.
