Richard Nance

Mr. Richard “Rick” Leroy Nance Jr., age 71 of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2023. He was born on June 13, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio. He was the son of the late Richard Leroy Nance Sr. and Edna Naomi Landis Nance. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Beverly Nance Williamson.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Diane Marie Nance; son Michael William Nance, daughter-in-law Kelly, daughter Elena Michelle Kammann, son-in-law Daniel, grandchildren Christopher and Kyria and sisters Sharon Baker and Joyce Traxler.

A proud graduate of The Ohio State University college of Pharmacy, Rick devoted his career to hospital pharmacy management in Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Georgia. His avocation was the performance of magic, and he combined both that and his vocation by presenting drug abuse prevention talks to schools and civic groups.

Throughout his life, Rick was passionate about his church. He served on church councils, was active in children’s ministries, worked in adult education and outreach, and most recently served as Senior Warden at St. Peters.

Funeral Services for Mr. Richard “Rick” Leroy Nance Jr. will be held on Wednesday January 24, 2023 at 11 o’clock in the morning at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Rome Ga. Family will receive friends in Daniel Hall following the service and internment.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Peters Episcopal Church Family Ministries.
