Mrs. Patton was born in Old Forge, PA, January 15, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Joseph M. Ulias and Mary Tama Ulias. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William Kenneth Patton, and her son, Stephen Michael Patton. She grew up in Old Forge, PA, where she graduated from high school in 1950. After high school, she went to work with the FBI in Washington, D.C., where she met and married the love of her life, her husband Kenn.
They moved to Rome, GA, in 1960 where she became active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Junior Women’s League, the Altar Society, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the Girl Scouts and multiple bridge clubs. She was the secretary at both Saint Mary’s Catholic School and Westminster Presbyterian Church. She retired from Rome Internal Medicine where she worked in the office. In 1994, she and Kenn moved to Lake Weiss and enjoyed their retirement home in their golden years, eventually moving back to Rome in 2008. She was currently a resident of Riverwood Remembrance Village.
Mrs. Patton is survived by her daughter, Rita Ann Patton Foley, of Cary, NC; her son, Gregory Francis Patton and his wife Marjorie of Cartersville, GA; her daughter-in-law, Tamara Patton Bates of Rome, GA; and her sister, Gertrude Ulias Strobel, of Gaithersburg, MD. Also surviving are grandchildren: Marla Cushman Patton, Sarah Ellen Foley, Megan Hollis Patton, Mark Kenneth Foley, and one step-grandchild, Michael David Foley. A number of beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews also survive.
