He was born to parents Claude and Carleta Peters, March 16, 1947, in Mulberry, Arkansas. Richard graduated from Rogers High School 1966 and served in the U.S. Army 1966 through 1969, serving in the Vietnam War. Following his service, he was employed by Preformed Line Products in the maintenance department and retired after 41 years.
He was happily married to Della for 20 years, who survives him. Richard is also survived by daughter Cecile Peters of Pea Ridge; son, James Peters (Niki) of West Fork; stepdaughters Trudy Waltz (Travis) of Bella Vista and Jamie Wentz (Lynz) of Arizona; brothers Michael Peters (Debi) of Van Buren and David Peters (Earnestine) of Dyer; and sister Margaret Williams of Ft. Smith. He was a proud Papa to grandsons Clayton and Seth; granddaughters Karenna and Soraya who love and will miss him dearly.
Richard was proceeded in death by his parents, Claude and Carleta Peters, high school love and wife, Karen Peters; infant child Cynthia; brother Billy Peters and sister Kay Schaffer.
Richard loved hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He loved to travel, spend time with his family and friends and was a collector of antique cars. Richard was 32nd degree Mason.
