Judith held degrees in Nursing and Public Health Administration from the Catholic University of America. She spent her career working in public health, including 20 years of service as the Director of Nursing for the Alexandria City Public Health Department in Alexandria, Virginia. She was an active member of the church at All Saints Sharon Chapel, including serving on the vestry, as a youth group leader, and as a member of the choir. She married her husband, Leland Southard, in 1977 and they were together for 43 years until Leland’s passing in June of 2020. She enjoyed the beach (which is where she met Leland) and loved spending time with family and friends at both Lake Anna and Lake Erie. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Katharine Fraser (Sam) of Bentonville and her four grandchildren, Garrett, Ava, Isabella, and Samantha. Judith was the third child of seven and is also survived by her six siblings, Rosemary, Elizabeth, Michael, Doris Cynthia, William, and Edward.
