Hazel Irene Buttram

She graduated from Selma Glendale High School and then attended the Raleigh Business School. Hazel worked in Civil Service at the Air Force School in Goldsboro, North Carolina and the Rationing Board in Essex, Maryland. She also worked for Avon for 45 years. After Hazel and Wallace married in 1945, they moved to Rogers from Essex, Maryland, in 1948.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace E. Buttram; sons, Rick Buttram and wife Jayne of Rogers, Randy Buttram and wife Jo of Rogers; stepdaughter, Sharon; sisters, Dorthy Hicks Long of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Ruby Janet Hicks Narron and husband Kelly of Kenly, North Carolina, Kathie Hicks Crocker and husband Jerry of Littleton, North Carolina; grandchildren, Mance Buttram of Miami, Florida, Shelby and Matt Shy of Bentonville, Heather Buttram Gales of Rogers, Eric Buttram of Rogers; great-grandchildren, Ella Gales of Rogers, and Brooks Shy of Bentonville.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Rollins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oakley Chapel Cemetery.
