Catherine Frances Cooper

A life long resident of Nash County, was born November 10, 1927, the last child of John E. Cooper and Bessie R. Cooper Cooper. She was employed by Life of Virginia Insurance Company (now

GE Financial) for 45 years and most of those as head secretary and office Manager. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. She and sister Mary Alice took care of her mother for almost 42 years until she went to heaven.

She was preceded in death by her older siblings Randall L. Cooper, Margaret J.”Snookie” Fountain (Gilbert) Bessie Louise Cooper, Mary Alice Ballard (Arthur) and niece Frances Y. Cooper Petree (Gary)

She is survived by a very, very special friend and “sweetheart” of over 67 years. Fred W. McIntyre, who was also her care provider and constant companion for the last 10 years, after she had a stroke. He was with her until the very last minute. He also provide 24/7 care for her at home through her caregivers Isis, Tabitha, and Felicia who are sisters and Mrs. Sarah Williams. The above written is a true testimony of the love that Fred had for Catherine. She is also survived by nephews Donald L. Cooper (Linda) of Nashville, Stephen Fountain and niece Teresa Fountain of California, and many cousins, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews and friends.

A Celebration of her life will be held in the Chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount on June 2, 2014 at 11AM.

The family will receive friends at 6 until 8 PM Sunday night at the funeral home. The interment will be in the Forest Hills Cemetery, Nashville NC.
