Mike was born in Fremont, Ohio on January 26, 1949 to William & Janice Martin. He grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont Ross High School where he participated in several sports and was on the swimming team.
After graduating, Mike joined the US Marine Corps and was a proud veteran who served a tour in Vietnam.
After his discharge from the Marines, Mike returned to Fremont for a few years and that is where he met his lovely wife Mary Talbot Immel. They were married May 30, 1982 and celebrated 39 years of marriage this year. In 1989 they moved to Melbourne, Florida and adopted their son, Matthew in 1992.
Mike worked for many years in information technology for Rockledge Regional Hospital in Melbourne. He had recently retired. He was a well known, well liked and respected member of the hospital staff.
He was also a devout Christian who attended Calvary Chapel of Melbourne for 21 years. He was active and involved in their outreach programs.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Talbot Immel); his son Matthew; sister Pat Overmyer (Bud) of Bellevue, Ohio; brother Bill of Waterloo, Ontario; brother Christopher of Kitchener, Ontario; and a host of nieces, nephews and long time friends. Mike was known and loved by many and he will be missed by friends and family in Florida, Ohio and other locations. Donations may be made to Brevard County Animal Services in Melbourne, Florida.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 11, 2021 from 12-3pm at the Banyon House, Malabar FL.
