Mary Lou Taylor Fritts, 83, of West Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Born on September 17, 1941, in Widen, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Andrew Fred Taylor and Bertha Dora Phares Taylor.
Mary moved to Brevard in 1962, coming from Warren, Ohio. She worked as a hospitality professional at Holmes Regional Hospital Café but dedicated her retirement years to caring for the elderly, embodying her kind and nurturing spirit. Mary was a cherished member of the Sunshine Ladies Investment Club, where she continued her passion for connecting with others.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawne Michelle Walters (spouse, Dan Allen Walters) of Ludowici, GA; son, Michael Hugh Fritts (spouse, Joy Louise Fritts) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and her partner of 14 years, Paul Allen Walters, of West Melbourne, FL. Mary was also preceded in death by her son, Joeseph Matthew Fritts.
Mary's legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Jesse Keith Parker of Titusville, FL; Dallas Michelle Parker of Ludowici, GA; and Christina Marie, Danielle Nicole, and Alyssa Michelle Fritts Sweep, all of New Smyrna Beach, FL. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren, bringing joy to their lives with her love and laughter.
A visitation will take place at 1:30 PM on November 5, 2024, at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 S. US Highway 1 Rockledge FL 32955, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at the same location. Internment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers in memory of Mary Fritts.
Mary was known for her green thumb, with beautiful flowers blooming in her garden, as well as her quick wit and love for puzzles and card games. Her love of nature, people, and life brought light to everyone who knew her—a light that will continue to shine through the lives of her family and friends.
