Margaret Waller Roberts

Margaret Waller Roberts, age 85, of Melbourne, Florida, was welcomed home by the Lord as she passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2024, with her family by her side. Margaret was born in Bascom, a small town in northwest Florida, on September 12, 1938. She was the youngest child of Lloyd and Nellie Waller.

Margaret moved from Quincy, Florida to Brevard County in December of 1963. She worked for Lockheed (and later Lockheed-Martin) for 37 years as a secretary, continuing her education and improving her skills to advance to the position of secretary for the Resident Director.

Margaret was a vivacious, warm, sincere lady who brought the fun with her wherever she went. She was an avid bridge player who enjoyed getting together with friends several times each week. She enjoyed her daily online crossword puzzles, as well as playing various games with her family during their get-togethers. She was devoted to her family, and her life was marked with a constant spirit of gratitude.

She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Melbourne for 21 years, particularly enjoying the ladies' weekly Bible study. She joined The Sunshine Club, a women’s fellowship and service organization, in 2003, serving as the recording secretary for several years. Margaret was a member of the Ramblin’ Reds local chapter of the Red Hat Society and served as the “Queen Mum” for a number of years as well. She enjoyed many wonderful memories with her friends in these various organizations.

Margaret was married for 42 years to her beloved husband, Paul H. Roberts, Sr., until his passing in 2010. She leaves behind the following family members: her daughter, Tracey (Clinton) Phillips of Kingsland, Georgia; her sons, Paul H. Roberts, Jr (JoAnn) of Kittery Point, Maine and Kenneth (Sheryl) Roberts of Captain Cook, Hawaii; her grandchildren, Michael (Alyson) Roberts of Washington, D.C., Carey (Sean) Rosenberry of Satellite Beach, Florida, Jessica (Darren) Gerhardt of Fairfax, Virginia, Meredith Phillips of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Carolyn Phillips of Kingsland, Georgia; her great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Caelen, Maxwell, Skylar, Madison, and Logan. She also leaves behind numerous treasured friends.

Visitation will be held at 11:00AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 2980 N Wickham Rd in Melbourne with a funeral service immediately following. The interment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens.
