Kathleen Louise Davis, affectionally called "Koolie, moms or mother D," was born on September 8, 1934, in Springfield, Jamaica, West Indies. She was the third of four siblings, Linneth (deceased), Eunice and Icent, born to parents Jonathan and Doris Beckford.
At a young age she met the love of his life, Fedmin Davis. In 1957 Kathleen joined Fedmin who emigrated to the United Kingdom and settled in the town of Wolverhampton in the West Midland, the previous year. The couple were married on August 2, 1958. The Lord blessed them with three children, Myrna, Michael (pre-deceased), and Mark.
Kathleen worked at the Box Company in Wolverhampton for 7 years before the family emigrated to the United States in 1972 and settled in Queens, New York. She then worked at North Shore University Hospital as a surgical equipment technician until she retired. Kathleen's ambition and a desire to always strive for her dream, led her to enroll in Wilfred Beauty Academy to pursue and earn her cosmetology license, all while holding a full-time job and caring for her family. Another move was on the horizon for Kathleen and Fedmin as they fulfilled their dream of living in a warmer climate after retirement, and in 2001 they moved to Palm Bay, Florida, where they reside until they were called home to their eternal rest.
Kathleen was an excellent wife, loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Kathleen was a great cook and hostess. She loved entertaining and preparing meals for her family, friends, and guests alike, in her home. Her fruit cakes were delicious! "Mother D" was the place to be for the holidays and special occasions.
Kathleen departed this life peacefully on Saturday, March 23, at 5:45 a.m. with Myrna at her side holding her hand. Rest in eternal peace!!
