John Anthony Lopez

John Anthony “Sonny” Lopez passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his family at the age of 84. He will be forever adored by his beloved wife of 63 years, Virginia “Ginger” Lopez (nee Hills), daughters Kelly Marcincavage and husband George, Susan Sternberg and husband Robert, Julia Hoag and husband Daniel, Katherine Borrelli, son Richard and wife Suzanne, his grandchildren Gabriel and Samuel Marcincavage, John Maxwell and Olivia Lopez. He is survived by his sister Phyllis A. Regan and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son John Anthony Lopez Jr., brother Ronald Lopez, and sister Lois Bizzozero.

Born January 5, 1939, the first son of Felix and Dorothy Lopez, John grew up in Waltham, MA, playing football, baseball, and was voted best dressed in his class. As a young man, he was active in the Waltham Jaycees. He then had a long career as a successful manager of several businesses. Along the way, John was a positive influence on everyone with whom he came into contact. He was devoted to his family and a mentor to many. He loved watching all the Boston sports teams, but not as much as he loved coaching and watching his kids, nieces and nephews activities.

A Celebration of Life will commence on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2pm at Edwards Church (39 Edwards Street Framingham, MA 01701)
