On May 30th we lost David C. Teeter, one of the greats. Born March 14th, 1954 in Winter Haven FL to Carroll and Anne Teeter, youngest brother to Becky, Alice and Ellen. He leaves behind three children Stephanie, David, and Lexie.
He attended USF as an undergrad and received his masters from FIT. After school he began his career as an electrical engineer specializing in telemetry at RCA, then CSR and after transitioned to locomotives with GE and most recently WABTEC.
Those who knew Dave appreciate that the stories are endless, youthful tales of climbing water towers, performing as Snidley Whiplash, while at the same time achieving Eagle Scout status, fantastic adventures taking road trips and famous “long cuts” that always led to laughter.
His unbreakable bonds throughout all walks of his life is a testament to his character. The eternal “Uncle Dave” always there to extend a hand, whether it was as small as a good conversation, helping with a move, or even discretely helping a friend out of trouble.
As good of friend as he was, he was an even better father, always there to listen and never judge. Writing this we are overwhelmed with stories of laughter, kindness, and fond memories of boat rides and visits to the mountain house that we will always treasure.
His passions for work, friends, and family is to be admired and he will be missed desperately.
Added to the family of ghosts
who gather at the table
how is it possible this sunlight
fluttering the green leaves
these birds chirping in the trees
this white cloud billowing
high into the bluest skies this
cool breeze blowing cross water
will no longer know him?
- Alice Teeter
