Virginia R Perez

Virginia R. Perez, 63, of Rockford, IL passed away on January 1, 2023. Virginia was born in Rockford, IL on February 11, 1959 to Jerry Mercer and Leila (Mercer) Stokes. Virginia received her GED in 1983, obtained her CNA License, and then went on to complete college courses for computer sciences. Virginia was an extremely caring and selfless person, she loved helping others and that is why she cherished her CNA License. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, playing bingo and the lottery. There was nothing she loved more than her dogs and family, especially her grandchildren.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Ramón Peréz O.; her children, Angela (John/ Kathy) Thibedeau, Lacey (Jordan) Patterson, and Azalia Perez-Carmona and her children; grandchildren, Nastashia Thibedeau, James Thibedeau, Sebastian Thibedeau, Rosalie Patterson, Emelia Patterson, and one on the way; dad, Frank Stokes; siblings, Leilah (Fritz) Cox, Sheila (Jim) Mercer-Hoffman, Randy (Terri) Mercer, Darlene (Jackie) Stewart, Johnny (Jessica) Northrup, Frankie Northrup, Alice (Joe) Veroni, and Michael Stokes; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her biological parents, Jerry Mercer and Leila (Mercer) Stokes; son, Thomas Reynolds; brother, Randel Mercer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at 1pm at Victory Homes Co-Op Hall (56 Senate Drive, Rockford, IL 61109).
